    Derek Samman

    He is responsible for leading the development, execution and management of Chase's global commodities portfolio, including the energy, metals and agricultural commodity business lines. He also leads Chase's global cross-asset class options business and its international market growth strategy. Prior to his current role, Sammann served as Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Commodities and Options Products since 2014. Since joining the company in September 2006, Sammann has also served as Senior Managing Director of Rates and Foreign Exchange Products and Managing Director and Global Head of Foreign Exchange. Prior to joining the company, Sammann had more than 16 years of sell-side trading experience in the global foreign exchange market, including serving as Managing Director and Global Head of FX Options and Structured Products at Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank in London. He has also held senior positions at Credit Agricole CIB in London, Credit Agricole CIB in Paris and Cooper, Neff & Associates in Chicago. Sammann also serves on the boards of the following entities: Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME), the Board of Governors of the New York Mercantile Exchange (COMEX), and the Board of Directors of the US Commodity Markets Council (where he also serves as Treasurer), as well as the International Advisory Committee of the Shanghai Gold Exchange, the Agricultural and Energy & Environmental Markets Advisory Committee of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and the Shanghai Stock Exchange Advisory Committee of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (STA). (Sammann is also a member of the International Advisory Committee of the Shanghai Gold Exchange, the Agricultural and Energy & Environmental Markets Advisory Committee of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and the Listed Options Committee of the STA.) He holds a bachelor's degree in economics and political science from Northwestern University.
